Hey gang, my truck developed a weeping leak at the heater core quick connect, the one closer to the engine. This quick connect is on a hose that then crimps to a steel pipe that bolts to the back of the engine bay fire wall around the turbo and then has a QC for the hose coming out of the rear of the driver cylinder head. I can't find this part at Rock Auto or Tasca parts or Oreilly website. Any clue how to get this thing?
Dang guess I am lucky seems this doesn't happen to many people. I bought the straight style quick connects from the parts store and some bulk tubing and some clamps to replace the crimped together hoses and leaking fitting at the heater core. From what I have read the Excursion heater hoses are almost all unique to the Ex with maybe 1 in common with Super Duty, the one that comes off the top of the water pump and are all NLA at this point. Damn thing is getting as hard to care for as my 30 yr old BMW!
Unfortunately Ford has discontinued a lot of parts, our beasts are now 20 years old +. I have also noticed aftermarket companies are making things hard to find, you really have to be creative.
You did the correct repair, buy a quick connect end and reuse the old hose or find one with a bend. The Y connection is available from Dorman as a T or buy a maple syrup Y connection and connect old hoses to it.
My goodness... if you find this thread via google search or something because you need to do this job... I pray for you. You will NOT be able to access the fittings and even if you can get a hand on them you will not be able to release them. Do NOT even try it is a waste of time. Skip the BS and just snap the hose end of the fittings off with a firm yank and use a long screw driver to break the small strip of black plastic that holds the white retaining clip inside then you can slide them off. I spent 2 hours kneeling on the alternator bent over trying to see in there and reach in there simultaneously (basically impossible for probably anyone especially at my height). My hands and arms and knees are shredded but the truck is apart. I had a fitting leak as I said, but I refuse to put new hoses/fittings on the old core because if this has to be done again it is such a PITA so I ordered a new Motorcraft core on rockauto this morning with delivery for tomorrow luckily.

I replaced a core recently, hardest part was removing the hoses.
On my 05 the Y connection started leaking, that was a PITA to swap out, last time I looked the hose was still available but Ford is dropping stuff so fast for our old trucks it won't be long until nothing OEM is available.
I thought about that possibility. Sadly I haven't found a source for good quality hose clamps locally, just china made worm clamps that strip out. Since I need my DD back I feel kinda forced into the original style parts since they are on the shelf.
I totally understand that. No sense in wasting the parts if you have them. For a good hose clamp, I use Breeze clamps. Particularly the ones with the liner to prevent the little holes from cutting into the hose. https://hoseclampsdirect.com/breeze-quick-reference/
Pricey as hose clamps go, and the liner reduces the size range but well worth it in the long run.
Just don't order from aircraft spruce—too many bad experiences with them.

I found one of my heater hose connectors leaking, Enough fighting with this thing. Hose clamp and a 5/8 heater hose works perfectly!
