I am replacing the heater core. I disconnected the hoses from the heater core but not the other end where it's connected to the engine. Does it matter which hose is put back on the inlet and outlet at the heater core?
Please excuse me for the dumb question. I am only learning.
I want to say no, but only because that is what I was told. It makes sense, but on the other hand I did that and my heater stopped working after about 6 months....I took one hose off and there was no flow going through the heater core....switched hoses and now everything is hunkey dorey. couldn't tell ya which goes to which though.

The hose from the water pump goes to the right hand (i.e., driver) side and the hose from the thermostat goes to the left hand side as you're looking from the front of the truck.
I doubt it makes a difference, but that's the way it comes from the factory.
