Was looking at my 2025 F350 KR and noticed what I believe is a tailgate lock . I know if you had a socket set or the right size but driver with you it could be taken off . I don’t remember seeing this on my last truck a 2020 F450 Platinum.
Seems like on my last truck you could open tailgate to a certain point and lift right side out and up to remove tailgate.

Did you order the truck and choose the tailgate lock? If not, do you have the window sticker to see if it's listed on it?
This has been mentioned on a few different threads now, including a post I made last summer with images of the part number. I had bought the McGard tailgate lock with Ford points, but when I went to install it I encountered this plate which is obviously not compatible with a fancy hose clamp. I have not seen any definitive explanation of what the Ford plate is actually for.

Its not on order and I didn’t order one . I saw the McGuard or whatever it’s called at the dealership accessories. This is different, I asked them about getting one and they asked if I leave truck unlocked or with tailgate down often. I said no and no , he said probably don’t need it . This is before I noticed what was on it from factory.
Few days ago I installed the "fancy hose clamp" gizmo directly over the pseudo lock the factory installed on right side of my tailgate. I did NOT check any box for tailgate lock when I ordered it. 2024 F450 Platinum.
