That’s an old race car technique. It’s so the driver can tell if everything is okay when the eyeballs are getting shaken out of their sockets by NVH.

i have not even bothered to install mine... but then all the parts are sitting in boxes waiting for me to get off of my lazy backside and install them.. that being said.

from my former racing/time attack days: an ana log dial guage is probably better... why? becasue a digital shifts so quickly that you stupid little ape brain cannot track it other wise. a sudden pule to 1400 is over in a blink of an eye, but a needle takes time to go u and down allowing the lizard brain to register the appropriate shock and awe... and then fear. so I vote foe the analog.

I like my Max Tow Trans and EGT gauge on my obs, both digital and analog sitting in the pillar, had them for close to 10 years and have worked great.

A quick glance and you can read out the digital display, and a long stare at the analog for entertainment when towing up a long steep hill.

the Edge CTS-3 have Averaging Algorithms that stop the Digital numbers from changing too fast.

in fact, they let the owner DECIDE just how often those numbers are allowed to change. And the result is an Average of that time span.

been two years ago now, but I thing I set mine at 2 seconds?
the ICP and IPR are the only numbers that I see changing fast.

Boost floats up/dn smoothly

I made a Video once to show the screen while driving, excuse the horrible start, I used my cellphone and was trying to brace my hand against the A-pillar, I finally got it stabilized..... SORT OF,

Wish I could afford a decent video camera, like the GoPro stuff
