so this is probably one of the most common posts, so im sorry but i currently an using an sct tuner. when i first got it i was pleased i felt like my truck woke up, it towed my boat with more authority too! but, as i keep reading about the dp it just sounds so much better, i hear the stories of people turning tires and getting sideways, and i dont get much of that. i think i can only afford the f5, but how is the install, is it difficult? thank you
The install is fairly easy. It took Huck(fellow member) and i about 45 minutes to install mine. Well actually it took him about 45 minutes and i watched!!
The install is fairly easy. I installed mine at the same time as gauges, used the mounting bracket that goes around the gauge in the pod. As far as turning tires and getting sideways, I tried a couple of times and I just don't get it to happen. You can see in my sig the tunes. Might need more than 80E to make it happen, I don't know.
I used to have a superchips tuner as well and thought it was good at the time. I have an F5 on my truck now and it blows away the sct. I still have my sct for a code scanner and paperweight but I will never go back. Its DP Tuner all the way. Again I have to thank Clay for stopping by when he was in town and helping me install it.
If you are planning on getting an F5, spend the extra and get the F6, it gives u the ability to have Jody send his tunes to u and you can upload them onto your chip if u have a laptop. Well worth it rather than removig your chip and sending it back if there are issues with a certain tune. He can fix them thru email with F6

And now is the best time of the year to buy since they are running there awesome holiday sale.
I got all excited about the sale, went to their website and didnt see anything about it.
I have been holding off on getting the chip because of cost, but if there would happen to be a sale on them.......
Id like to get the F6 with the 80e for now, I cant afford anything extra if I go with the F6, OBA and the selector thingy. Price adds up quick.

I learned something new yesterday, every DP Tuner comes delivered with a snow/slick road setting! I found it hard to drive in the snow in 80e... even being light on the throttle the tires want to spin. I pushed a few buttons and changed the display to read "1" and now the throttle response isn't as touchy, I can drive a lot easier on slick roads, but power seems down

Try holding the brakes for a second to let the turbo spool up then let it rip.
Just don't hold the brakes too long it kind of hard on the torque convertor.
My brothers truck on 80e has laid down a bit of rubber with me behind the wheel...right in the middle of philly at that. Little bit of brake, little bit of spool, green light and let er' fly.
I cant wait for the F6 in my truck, Im thinking the 120 or 140 tune for fun, but i dont know if i want race or agressive, I gotta talk with DP and find out what the difference is for sure first.
