DP Tuner Question

Ok this is probably a simple answer but what does the control for the DP Tuner look like if you dont have gauges and where does it mount?

DP TUNER just the regular f-5 swtich that can be mounted to the dash by velcrow. Best to order you some gauges for her first and get the gauge pod controller or the F-5 holder that mounts around the gauge.

I really dont want to do gauges. I dont tow excessive amounts and dont run her hard. If I were to do gauges I would go for something that was one of those electronic all in one types of deals as opposed to 3 individual gauges. Any recommendations on an electronic all in one gauge type of deal?

Gauges would be a whole lot cheaper than a new block...

I have been eyeing this guage for an all in one gauge but in addition to gauges I already have.

You can hook up a pyro, boost and temp gauge up to the Scan gauge to lower down the ammount of gauges.

I would not run a DP Tuner without having at least an exhaust temp gauge whether towing or not. I can hit 1200+° in no time with stock injectors. And if you don't have an upgraded free flow exhaust you are looking for a meltdown if you don't monitor the EGTs.

I need to get gauges as well. What do you mean by the Scan Gauge to lower down the amount of gauges?

What does a new block have anything to do with running a chip on a medium performance tune without towing heavy or doing something to the equivalent of a salt flat top-speed run?

Diesels make more heat from more fuel, so a chip can get EGT's (exhaust gas temps) up there.

I know a few guys who run chips without gauges, they say if they had gauges they'd never leave the driveway.

I've seen a 7.3 take some heavy abuse without gauges, more than i thought it would, but I suppose there are engines being blown occasionally.....

Think of the tranny, oh god, think of the tranny!!!!

Exhaust Gas Temperature. The temperature in which the exhaust is leaving the cylinder head. 1250 degrees is the maximum you want to hit for short bursts otherwise piston melting can/will occur.

Im just saying that without knowing what the temps are exactly you wont know when to back off. I ran my chip without gauges for a little while and I know how surprised I was the first time I saw how fast that red needle moved..
