While it is not ideal, I don't think it will hurt to drive it. But I would try to tighten it quick as possible. If I remember right, it takes an inch and1/8 wrench, or maybe a 1 1/16. How long has it been leaking?
You may also need to put a slight bend on that wrench. The turbo pedestal is usually in the way to fit a standard wrench. At least that's what I remember when I did my e-fuel conversion. I ended up tightning the banjo with the wrench on it at a slight angle, which chewed up the bolt a tiny bit. No biggy though.
My other question is, is it safe/ok to drive until the leak is fixed? She’s my daily driver.
Is a fuel leak a dot violation?
Vehicle maintenance & safety
If your vehicle has brake problems, flat tires, broken lights, missing components like worn-out shocks or springs, fuel leaks, broken mirrors, or overloading/improper loading issues, you should be prepared to receive a DOT violation notice.

First noticed about 2 weeks ago. Didn’t think much of it because I thought it was remaining runoff from me draining some of the fuel bowl. It was only dripping, not much. Monday, while doing chores, I left her running while in the store and saw it leaking quite a bit. Enough to see it while walking across the parking lot. Faint smell of diesel confirmed my fear.
Little notch with the grinder helped get that extra turn on the banjo bolt. Helped clear the deleted pedestal I have. Wrench is a husky from Home Depot.
I was able to tighten the banjo bolt. Started her up and put her under load with the rpm control. Saw a little fuel coming out, but less than last time. Tighten and seem fine now. Will check tomorrow when everything is hot.
Still leaking fuel. What is that part name and do I need to place the whole thing or maybe an o ring? I fear that tightening it further will crack or break something or should I give it another turn to see is it stops?
Where is the weep hole located? This is the first time I’m having to repair/replace anything fuel related, minus filter and new tanks, so this is all new information to me.
Thank yall for helping.
If it is leaking from there the pump needs to be replaced. I believe that is similar to a water pump leaking from the weep hole.
the valley has 3 sections or dips. When I was tracing down fuel leaks I shop vac’d and cleaned all the valley. Waited until it dried then ran the truck and periodically checking the areas for leaks.
if fuel is in the very front it’ may be the drain valve or fuel line coming from the bowl to front of the motor. If it was in the middle I looked at the rubber hoses at rear of bowl to pump, pump weep hole, fuel bowl assembly (fpr)and my sensors on rear side of bowl. if it was rearward by turbo area I looked at banjo bolt and fuel lines going to back of motor. Of course I’m likely missing some areas but that’s what I did rather fuel or oil leaks topside.
best to work with a clean area as the leaking will present itself near the origin.

Replaced banjo bolt gasket and cleaned the area. It’s definitely coming from the middle behind the fuel bowl. I posted this earlier on. In the area where I circled, I’m seeing fuel shoot out from the left on the under side. Is that where the weep hole is located?
