Originally posted by V10 junkie I keep hearing alot about throttle body's here, has anyone very tried a tornado...you know...the thing the guy on tv was selling.
Maybe I am wrong, but does not the throttle body just twist the air to get a better mix...
I saw some on E-Bay around $70.00, I am thinking of doing that next...from what I read you would all seem to agree
ICK! Save your dough! A larger TB allows more air in the engine. A Tornado just..well...does nothing...
Do they rate TBs by CFM ?
I've looked at the BBK 1711 & the Accufab CTB 96-98,
Can't find no size specs on Accufab.
Would one work as good as the other or is there an
advantage to have one throttle plate vs two ?
As far as the advantages/disadvantages of any TB, I personally can not comment. But everyone who has installed a TB, wheteher it be an accufab, bbk or edelbrock has been very pleased w/ the performance and increased throttle response, over the stock 58mm.

I was told by ACCUFAB that the CTB 96-98 would not work on my 2000 F350 V10. I bought one anyway (based on comments on this site) and it works great.
When you install it use the stock gasket.
I would go with ACCUFAB. I tried the BKK (or is it BBK ?) and it is a hard hitting feeling when starting from a dead stop. The truck jumps forward and I did not really like the feel of it and my wife hated it. Just my opinion.
I think the return spring on the BBK has more tension on it and takes more pressure to move, so it is harder to ease in to the throttle, giving it a more spirited take off.My wife hates it also.
