Well this last weekend I received the throttle body I ordered from ACCUFAB. Installation was easy, about 15 minutes.
I should have done this sooner!! It really was the thing my truck needed to bring it all together.
I put the Banks complete exhaust system on it three years ago along with the Banks TransCommand. Last month I added the K&N FIPK and picked up the HyperTech Programmer. Big difference at this point. Now with the throttle body change the truck just gets up and GOES.
The performance is very smooth and when driving you can sense the power is there but when you put your foot in it, either off the line or to kick it into passing gear you better hang on.
My wife drives the truck during the week and awhile back she mentioned it didn't seem as "peppy" as it was. That was mostly related to needing to change plugs which I did. When I got home from work on Monday the first thing she said was "boy, did those new plugs really work" (she doesn't know about the other mods).
A happy wife is a happy life.
Good to hear about the install and gains. What brand of plugs are you using?? Just remember for everything you think you got over on the wife, she's got at least three over on you!!
I know the wife gets a few things by me and thats ok....I guess it balances out.
I went with the stock plugs. I changed them at 57,000 miles and the ones coming out looked pretty good.
This was an ACCUFAB single blade throttle body. Instead of an inside wall there is one big butterfly valve. I believe there is a link to my "other" gallery in my FTE gallery.
I have a question. All the posts in this forum regarding TB upgrades refer to the 65MM BBK or Accufab, that apparently are designed for a Mustang. When I E-Mailed Accufab they gave me a part# for a 70MM designed for the V-10. Is the Accufab used in this post a 70MM for a V-10 or a smaller one for a Mustang?? Just want to be sure I get the correct one. Thanks.
I hope this helps you. If you do a web search, you will find some internet retailers that sell this TB for around $320.00. Good luck. Post your results when you are finished.
I can't see why it wouldn't fit. The basic V10 stuff hasn't changed. What years do the BBK and Edelbrock TBs cover now??
I used the reverse engineering concept to figure the ACCUFAB would work. If the others will cover 99-03' truck using the same part number then so should the ACCUFAB.
