Hi, I own a 56 ford f100 and I can't lock the doors from inside pull it up the door open, push it down nothing happens still can open the door from outside.
My latches have an s stamp are these originals or repros ?
I am still trying to figure out how to install solenoid door locks with the Altman latches.
I am keeping the manual windows for nostalgia purposes.
I did install solenoids on mine. I do not think I have any pictures but there was a issue with the only place to attach the solenoid rod or cable to the altman was on the wrong side of the latch to have the cable or rod to the solenoid pull from the bottom, I welded a small tab on the latch to correct that.
Even with a solenoid there is no way to lock the door from the inside.

I am still awhile from getting to the doors. I did fit the Altman latches before I sent the body out for blasting and epoxy priming. I can live with using a key fob to activate the locks.
If you ever do find pictures of what you did, please post them.

I did not find pictures but I grabbed a picture of one online and drew in the part that I added to attach the solenoid rod or cable to to make it unlatch on a down pull. Altman puts what looks like a dandy place to attach a solenoid but it requires a up pull to unlock
