Clock on Radio
I have done that. In fact I just shut the truck off with the time on the display. When I jumped back in and turnedthe truck on. The radio station was displayed and it stayed displayed. I had to once again, hit the clock button (Which switched back to time mode) Then from that moment on, it will display time. If I turn the volume or switch the station it will briefly show the station and then back to time. BUT Once I shut the truck off, and turn it back on, The radio station stays on until I hit the clock button. What I am trying to do, is have the time displayed as the default vrs the radio station. I will try the whole thing again when I go back out, but last night when I shut the truck off it was displaying the clock. When I turned it on this morning, it stayed displaying the radio station.
Outwest,
No problem, I found out what switches the premium radio/cd/cass display from clock mode to station then clock mode and back...with the radio on, I just pressed the clock button, it then went back to the station all-the-time mode. I turned it off and back on and it was still in station display mode. Again, with the radio on, I pressed the clock button and it went back to station then clock mode. I turned it off and back on and it is still in that mode...that was easy, must be why I forgot. When you adjust the station or the volume the display will show the station freq for about 3 secs then go back to clock.
I know that works, what i am asking about is if there is a way to get the clock to display when you turn the truck on. Like all other vehicles I have owned. On this Ford, it stays displaying the radio station until you hit clock (then it works like normal). It apears the default is set to display station, I want the default to display time.
Small agravation hitting the clock button once as opposed to having to hit it every three seconds
Maybe there is another click, switch, on, off step that does that
We can only hope
What cd/radio do you have? I have the premium 6CD and I can get it to display the clock while the radio is off (i.e on startup) without touching a thing. And then when I turn the radio on, it will display the station and clock at the same time. Do you have the premium or the standard radio?
Good job on hunting down the solution
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
My truck has 2 fuses for the radio 1 main /1 start it's the premium
6 cd but maybe ford left out 1 for starting. the fuse locations are 11 and 32 might check and see if both are there and are good?
"issue earlier this year on the DM100 Radio (Single CD/Cass/AM/FM Radio) where it would not retain the clock mode after an Ignition On/Off cycle. This issue was corrected with a new version of software and I believe the fix was implemented in the April timeframe."
The dealer sends the radio in to their repair facility and they update or replace the unit....
Much appreciated

I will have my dealer take care of this at the first (free) oil change.
What should I refer them too in the event they play dumb and say they dont know what I am talking about.
Is there a service or tech bullitin number I should quote to them?
Would they just swap out the radio or will they send mine out to be fixed and leave me with no sounds for however long it takes to fix?
As I said before this clock thing is a small annoyance but it is the kind of thing that causes stress and makes you want to beat on the dash and kick small dogs
Thanks again Andy
Wish I could help...............
Depending upon how level the ground is where I fill it up, I have put 32 gal in it with the gauge reading right on E or a half a needle or so above. This is when I topped it off to the filler neck.
It does take some patience. But pulling my trailer through some new stretches where I don't know where all the fuel stops will be located, I like to make sure that I've topped it off well.
Typically I can get 4-5 more gallons in after the auto shut off kicks off the filler. Like the other posters have said, I get around 150 - 170 miles of highway driving (without the trailer) before the needle drops off of full. It doesn't plummet after that but definitely drops faster than the first 170 miles.
