Do you think a compressor can be adapted to fit most air conditioner systems. I know this may be a dumb question, but compressors are high & I found one new that has been sitting on shelf. I know many things will have to be changed, electrical connectors. Oh I will have to buy parts to match but I am thinking I could hopfulley change pulley if I need to & make a bracket to align, or should I just buy a kit.......?
Any one piece one together..........I am off outside to continue work on my BEATER.........HA. i TOOK A MUCH NEEDED BREAK..........MORE LATER...........thanks..........
The question is do you have any of the brackets on the motor to mount it and what about the HVAC box and controls?
If you have nothing for the truck then I would go with a kit. If all you got is the HVAC box / controls but nothing for the motor then I would hunt for the parts needed to mount the compressor and go from there.
My 81 F100 had factory AC box only. Thing is they have 3 different compressor mounts for the 80's 300 six motor and I only had half of one that did not fit the rest of the parts on the motor.
I got a lot of help from people on the truck forums that was able to get me the needed parts to get my AC working.
You may have to do the same thing?

DAVE your such a HUGH HELP, I was thinking I could make the brackets or look for them used, but a kit is PROBABLY THE best route , but I will check out the forums as you suggested, I am great at finding parts & may can piece together the parts I need . I am not in TOO big a hurry, but Summer is coming........ha
Is it hard to change the seals in an A/C compressor.......The compressor has been sitting for a while & I wonder if the seals may have dried out.
