When up to speed the transmission shifts back and forth. Also while accelerating it seems the torque converter isn't engaging all the way. I've just replaced the tps and mlps and I disconnected the battery to do the tps so the codes should have wiped. I don't have any active codes just two stored which are 212, 332, 637 and this is from the KOEO test. Could this be caused by the 637 code or is there something else going on?
Please explain what it is doing when it shifts back and forth.
when I get up to about 45 to 50 it starts shifting back and forth pretty quick jumping from 1400 to 2000 rpm. if I give it enough gas it stays at 2k and if I let off it drops to 1400 and stays. so it only does it when I'm cruising and giving it 20% throttle or so.

What engine do you have? Maybe the guys know how to test your tach sensor.
This is going to sound crazy but it's a 5.8 out of a 96 f250. The original motor was a 5.0 and as far as I can tell they left the fuel and air system from the 5.0 as well as the original PCM. Now the original PCM quit working so the PCM right now is out of a 93 E-350 with 5.8 and e4od. If I had to assume it's the original tach for the 5.0 but I may be wrong
