OTA software update yesterday

Yesterday a message displayed on the center screen that a software update was available. When I got home I went to the software update tab and hit install. This morning I had a message on my FordPass app titled, Enhance Window Detection System - Your vehicle’s driver door module has been updated to reduce false bounce back alerts when closing your windows. Experience smoother and more dependable window operation with this enhancement. Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time. DDM-24.19.3.

I’ve never had a problem with my windows, nor have I seen this message.

I drove my truck again today and noticed my engine oil temperature gauge had been replaced with the pressure gauge. This makes me wonder if this update also did something with the oil pressure…

There was a recent thread about issues with bounce back.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...unce-back.html

Hopefully this will fix it.

When it updates I've noticed it likes to reset the custom gauges. I have had a couple roll up bounce back when closing the windows in the heated garage hopefully it fixes it.

Thanks guys, I hadn’t heard about any issues with the windows. Makes sense an update may return some settings to default.

Anytime the modules reset, it will set the gauges to default. Everytime I used Forscan I had to go back and adjust them.

true about resets. however, i don't think the oil gauge ever had a pressure reading.
is it reading a number?

kylant, I had changed the pressure gauge to the oil temperature gauge, swapped the gauge position, and added the numerical temperature readouts, so I had engine coolant temperature, engine oil temperature, and transmission fluid temperature. The update changed the oil temperature gauge back to the oil pressure indicator, which has no numerical readout, so it caught my eye. The update did not put the gauges back in the original order. This is the third OTA update as far as I’m aware. The first two did not affect any of my settings.

it would be nice if the oil pressure gauge had a number

Unless Ford actually changed something for the better (doubtful), the oil pressure sensor that drives the gauge is actually just a switch. It closes at a certain pressure and that’s it. My 2017 had a wiring fault from the factory where one of the pins on that connector was faulty so I would randomly get low pressure warnings. That’s how I learned it’s not a pressure transducer at all. Just a silly switch. My guess is Ford is still using that part.

Mine got one the other day, thankfully it was for Sync so the gauges remained as set. Fordpass also showed and explained what the update was. Now that was a nice change.
