So today as I cranked my truck (07 f250) I realized my tow haul light started flashing and seems like it was dragging it's feet from takeoff, but then run good while moving. I had a few codes but did the stupid thing of erasing them before I read/saved them. Has anyone ever had this problem? What was the reason behind this? Sorry if it is a newbie or been repeated multiple times.
from reading over the post that you posted, IMO it doesn't seem like it would be the TC-lockout but right at the beginning. Is it common for it to smooth out after it is warm? After about 5 mins of driving, it smooths out and doesn't do it anymore. I am so lost and this is my first diesel. SMH!!!
In the linked thread, Mark K describes what the code means.
P1744: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance (Maybe the TCC clutch, a bad seal on the input shaft, a stuck torque converter clutch valve, a bad torque converter, or even the PCM). If it also is a bad TCC solenoid, you would also have a specific code for that.
The other code of significance is the #2 cylinder contribution (cylinder is weak due to mechanical problem or injectors are not contributing necessary volume of fuel).
going back and checking, codes are P0673, P0700, P0266, and P1744.
I just don't understand how it runs fine after starting off. I know the 1st code is for the glow plug. Also, don't know why my tow/haul is flashing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The tow/haul is flashing because codes P0700 and P1744 are stored in the computer's memory. When transmission codes are stored, the tow/haul flashes to alert the driver that there is a problem.
