Same here. 2022 F250 XL. Driver side front door no longer locks or unlocks via the FOB or the interior door switch. Just past the warranty and the dealer states it's $400 labor plus the part and diagnosis time. Doesn't take much to figure out it's a failed actuator...

If you end up fixing yours it would be interesting to see some photos of the inside of the actual actuator. 99% sure of what you will find.
According to information I have gathered from various sources on the web, forums, blogs, and FB groups many 4th gen Super Duty owners have been experiencing door lock malfunctioning issues. For me, my rear passenger door lock intermittently would work. Thankfully it has not continued; however, my front passenger door lock broke twice within a year’s time. It was initially repaired under the manufacturers warranty, and then malfunctioned again in less than a year (same lock). Due to time and foreign travel constraints, I was unable to return to the dealership within that year’s time after the initial repair (one year service warranty). In addition, the manufacturers warranty had also expired The dealership somewhat did me right in that they provided me with no cost labor, but I had to pay for the part, however, cost and inconvenience is not my concern here.
Moving forward, should these locks continue to malfunction, I plan to reach out to corporate and give them a chance to resolve an apparent well known issue. Trust me, they know about this issue, but it is more cost effective to do nothing than an all out recall. Should I receive pushback or resistance, I will pursue a legal coarse of action.
This issue should not be occurring over and over without a definitive solution. If anyone reading this has been experiencing a lock malfunctioning issue, please reply with a quick “same here” or “me too”. Please include your year model, how many occurrences, and what door(s) were affected. I am merely collecting data at this point for a potential legal course of action.
To many owners, these ongoing lock issues are merely an irritating nuisance and mild financial burden. I submit, I would like you to look at this as more of a safety issue that could very well could pose a hindrance to an emergency egress, or restriction to life saving medical care (I was a former professional firefighter as well as a emergency department RN-retired). Trust me, these are not words that any corporation ever wants to hear from a legal standpoint, and when they do, they move rather swiftly to mitigate the situation. Let me be your voice to promulgate and rectify this issue. Unfortunately and unrelated to this issue or FoMoCo, I have had to square off with big corporate in the past respective to safety issues with excellent success, and I really don’t mind doing it again.
I only ask of a simple reply: Year model, what door locks were affected, and how many times you experienced issues.
This is a safety issue, that needs to be swiftly addressed.
I thank you for your time and reply.
2022 Ford F350 Crew Lariat 6.7L.
I often have issues with my front driver's side door lock. The Fob, door lock buttons inside and key pad on the outside will not work, will not unlock the door/doors.
I'm scratching my head over this one. Of the hundreds of Super Duty's we have, I can only recall one having a problem.
It's a wear and tear item..... A quick Google search of this didn't provide any mass problems. Maybe I'm missing something here.
seems everytime someone has a problem with their truck you show up apologizing for fords crappyness. most every other vehicle door locks last 20yr. why cant ford figure it out

2022 F350 Lariat Crew, only 8,700 miles..... drivers door lock issues intermittently, been going on for 2 years. I need to get it fixed. I have a Ford Premium ESP, $0 deductible.... and I work at the Ford dealership. I DON'T EXPECT any issues getting it fixed under warranty, I have the Ford Reps #

well it can’t be wear and tear, because my passenger door are rarely opened, whereas the driver’s door is constantly being opened and closed, and that one has never had an issue. My front passenger side has only been used a handful of times after Ford replaced the original, and it still failed. Now my rear right passenger door is having issues. It operates normally, but my dash cluster reports that the door is open when in fact it is closed. I tried disconnecting both batteries, and while disconnected, I touched both terminals together for 30 seconds to drain any kind of residual current that could be lingering within the system. Reconnected the terminals, and still the issue remains. Aside from the dash warning, it operates fine.
My 2022 F-250, Lariat is in the shop right now for a "Left rear door ajar" warning light popping on and off. This in turn would set off the trucks alarm.
UPDATE: I just got my truck back from the dealer's service department. During the time on the lot while trying to find the issue the "Left rear door ajar" warning popped on a few times and set off the alarm. After attempts to isolate a singular cause/defect; they ended up replacing the entire lock assembly in the left rear door. It has been over a week and no issues as of today. The repair was covered under the Ford ESP warranty and I only had to pay the deductible.
thanks for the update. Now my right rear is acting up. I’m so glad that you mentioned that your car alarm would go off. My truck‘s car alarm has been intermittently going off in the middle of the night. Hell, I just thought it might have been acorns falling on the truck at night, but now I know.
My 2022 Lariat F-350 CCSB SRW 6.7L has had intermittent failure of shotgun door to unlock. PITA is to walk around to driver side and manually open the door from the inside. I will happily join any class action if this is a known defect that Ford is ignoring. Alternately, any pro tips on part # and DIY replacement would also be welcome.
I too am looking for an aftermarket alternative as Ford parts seem to be, well….Ford quality, or should I say poor quality. I hear Dorman is a plausible contender, but I’d like to get some opinions from others first before moving forward with that purchase. Now my right rear door is messing up.
