I was fortunate enough to pick up a 2005 F150 5.4L 3v with only 109,000 miles. Seems to be a good, solid truck. Only 13.3 mpg first tankful. For some reason I can’t figure out, the dashboard brake light is on all the time, and every time I start the truck, it emits 5 series of 5 annoying beeps. I finished the brakes yesterday, and as far as I can determine, the parking break is adjusted correctly. The parking brake switch seems to be clicking on and off when I manually operate it, but the light is always on. What am I missing here? I want to get the light off, but I also need to know if the light really means something needs to be fixed. Is the beeping signal caused by the brake light, or is that signaling something else? Thank you for your consideration. BobbytheShooter, Alpine, CA
Your era of trucks had issues with the cluster and brake fault lights. Could be a switch or sensor, too.
The beeps are coming from the airbag system, They are the backup warning for when the airbag light in the cluster isn't working and there is a current fault in the airbag system.
Thank you. I will look into it. I get a text message on the dash when ever I start the truck. Passenger airbag disabled.
The seller tried to explain the airbag dashboard light by saying there was a recall for the passenger airbag and he had not had time to take the truck in. He also said the dealer would remove the passenger airbag so it wouldn’t injure somebody in a false activation. This I find impossible to believe. I could not find a recall, and I can’t imagine Ford would remove rather than repair or replace a faulty airbag. I am going to put a fuse in the airbag slot to se if the chime will go away. Thank you for your timely reply.

It is VERY common for these trucks to have issues with solder joints within the cluster.
it causes things like your issue. My truck has the same thing.
if you remove the top of the dash there are 2 large wire connections on the top of the cluster.
When I put some pressure on the plug towards the windshield, the light goes out.
Yep the BRAKE light is a circuit board/solder problem. If you don't want to fix yourself, I used Texas Speedometer in Arlington TX. They did a great job and it was ~$100, but this was pre-irrational global panic of ~5 years ago.
Here's the guys I used, through ebay auction just like this. About $150 with shipping. No affiliation, I'm in CO ‐‐ and ironically they're in TX on Colorado Ln. https://www.ebay.com/itm/292764372444
The repaired cluster has been in our '08 F150 since 12/20 ‐‐ so it actually was after irrational global panic.
