Have you called them for assistance? If they were any good, they would offer some advice. Of course, they won't say they make junk. Even the Chinese don't do that.
Yes. Some of those pumps are not worth the cardboard box they're shipped in. I try to mentally keep track of which pumps have a high failure rate and which pumps work fine for years.
Avoid house brand fuel pumps from AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and Napa.
Folks have good success with Carter, spectra, and delphi.

They are expensive but solve the issue of cheap pumps with no good one way valves
Find a 300 dollar Ford pump NOS online somewhere, is what I do on my personal vehicles
