NW North Dakota with frigid temps and high winds, truck sits daily for 12 hours on construction site. Last year the wind chill was -63 however I able to keep truck plugged in to power source. Has anyone used the portable power station to keep truck plugged in? Looking at the Anker SOLIX C1000 which is1800W (peak 2400W)
Also, looking on the manufacturer website, output rating is only down to -4 degrees, as it gets colder its output wattage will go down, so it won't power as much or as long below -4 degrees.
You'd need to keep it in a heated space during use to keep the power output up.
Thank you. I thought about keeping it in the back of the truck in a wood frame with some insulation and enough circulation space. I think the scaffold builders are going to build a frame and we can run extension cords to the trucks safely.

Just a point of clarification, wind chill only cools inanimate objects down to the ambient temperature faster but doesn't make them colder. If it is 0 degrees outside, your truck will not get colder than 0 degrees.
Wind chill really only affects people and animals.
Is a small generator an option if the other falls through? Keep it warm before hand so it starts good and then just let it chug along all day as needed. 1056 Watt hours on that power bank is going to go super fast with a 600w to 1000w block heater.

Reason: more info
The best performance you are going to get out of your block heater is three hours. Whether you plug it in for three ours or 12 hours, it is still only going to reach a certain temp. Anything beyond three hours is just wasting electricity. If you have a set timeframe on site, plug it in about three hours before quitting time.

Yes, that would also work... Unless he wants to leave early...
