Whats pro power?
I have a 2023 with Pro Power but it doesn’t seem to be good enough to really run anything?
The salesman told me it was the biggest one available?

UNless you have a Powerboost, you can't have the "biggest one available". Powerboost options are 2.4 kilowatt and 7.2 kilowatt with the 7.2 version sufficient for a multitude of tasks, from air conditioners to power saws, to welders. The only ProPower available on non-Powerboost trucks is 2 kilowatts which is about 17 amps of 120 AC power, plenty for quite a few power tool applications as well as small appliances. Non-Powerboost trucks require that the truck run continuously to power the truck's 120V AC outlets whereas Powerboost runs ProPower off the hybrid battery and will automatically cycle the ICE to keep the battery charged. For reference, I used to haul a 3 kilowatt Honda generator around when I wanted to go off-grid camping with my travel trailer and that was enough to power the A/C unit and all other electrical requirements for the travel trailer. Now I just use my 7.2KW ProPower Onboard and I could easily power the camper next to me as well, with power to spare.
Pro Power on board or PPOB F150 with the built-in generator.
If you have the 7.2 kilowatt version it's a Hy-Brid truck....commonly known as the "PowerBoost".....which is based on the Twin Turbo 3.5L EcoBoost motor with a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 41-horsepower motor.
the 7.2KW truck provided 2 legs of 120vac 30 amp power per leg (3600 watts per leg).
I havent used the generator on mine much...but I do like it!
Visually you really cant tell the truck is the hybrid / generator version...looks like a conventional f150.
the only way to tell which version PowerBoost you have is to look at the outlet cluster in the bed of the truck...if it has the 30A plug its the 7.2KW version / hybrid.
Around here, the 7.2Kw pro-power hybrid trucks seem pretty popular for the weekend warrior type or RV families. I see them very commonly in the campgrounds. I have never owned one, but I'd certainly consider it.
Love my 7.2 kw pro power. Saved a music festival by running two full stages with lights sound etc. Wasn't even half load! Does anyone know how running pro power in 100+ degree heat works?
