I have a 2020 F 150 with the 10 speed transmission. I want to know what version I have. The transmission build code on the sticker has a G by it. When I googled it, it came up as a 10r140, but a few things said 10r80. Sounds like it's the 10r140? I have the 3.5 ecoboost engine. I want to replace the stubby transmission dipstick with a longer normal one if anyone has changed it. What would be the best one to get thanks
Once you can confirm you have the correct level, you should (Ford thinks) leave it alone.
Overfilling and wrong fluid problems (resulting in warranty claims) are what drove them to eliminate the engine compartment dipstick.
Think about it--
--it can't suck the fluid through the modulator like an old C4 or C6.
--If it leaks, you'll see it.
--If it's not buring or leaking, where would it go?
You are saying it's a 10r 80. I've looked at those and didn't know how well it would match when it's advertised for different transmissions. I thought they got rid of it because of all this "life time fluid " stuff. Gm still uses it on some engines. The suburban we have still has one
They got rid of it because too many people over filled or thought it was the engine dipstick. Of course these days most people don't ever open their hood or even know how to.
