Hello all, I have a 1998 F150 Lariat that just recently started blinking the OD light at me. I experience the 2nd-3rd transmission lag as it tries to go into 3rd only under good throttle. If I baby it up to 3rd it won't throw the code. I had a friendly mechanic pull the code, P0782 2nd to 3rd error. The fluid has never been changed, though the truck only has 60,000 miles on it, the fluid is nice and clean. The truck shifts fine around 2-3-OD after throwing the code, I just experience the "safe mode" feel of the tranny as it shifts.
I'd really like to fix the problem and am looking for any help from you guys. Could the fluid be old and just not heating up properly as it tries to shift? I experienced the "transmission fluid warm up revs" where the transmission is trying the heat up the fluid, extending the shift range for a little bit before I ever threw the code. Any help would be appreciated.
