Turn signals non operable

I have an 88 f150. The turn signals don’t work, but the hazards do. It has a tilt column. But I had a some questions regarding the flasher.

1. Is there a different flasher for the hazards and turn signals? If so where is the other one that’s not on the fuse box located.

2. How do I verify the operation of the flasher?

I still need to check fuses. If the fuses are good and the flasher(s) are good then I’ll move onto checking the multi function switch. The lever clicks into place and cancels fine so I’m not very suspicious of that.

Just from my poor memory.
Look on the back side of the fuse block and see if there is another flasher on the back side.

The turn signal flasher is in the in cab fuse block, facing down.
Try reseating it, and the turn signals may start working.
If they do, buy a replacement flasher, because if that's the original flasher, it's probably on its way out, at least that's what happened with my truck.
If the turn signals light up when you move the turn signal stalk, the switch inside the top of the steering column is working.

So I did a continuity test on all of the fuses. They are all good. So I pulled the flasher out and couldn’t give it power and ground, as I don’t have a power probe or alligator clip leads. So I stuck the multimeter where the flasher goes and I get 12v with the blinkers on and 0v with them off. So would this be the flasher?
I found the hazard flasher behind the glovebox and it works

This is what’s in my truck. 12u 6a. Is that correct? I can’t seem to find that same specification flasher.

Sounds like you need a flasher. They're pretty common. Parts stores stock them.
That's 12 V (volts), 6 A (amps).

You don't have LED bulbs installed anywhere do you? They can affect the flashers.

I do not have LEDs. Is 6a correct? Or is it supposed to be higher or lower? The PO didn’t do things the right way and put fuses in with wrong amp ratings and other crap like that so this may not be the right one? If there’s different ratings for these trucks where would I see what mine takes?
When I look them up based off of my truck 6a doesn’t pop up. At least on the parts store websites…

Just search 1988 Ford f150 turn signal flasher at your closest auto parts store, and don't buy the cheapest one. Or do the same on line.
I'm not sure what the amperage rating was, but as long as you're not buying a $2.00 one, you should be ok.

Simply switch the flashers
That's the test and the solution
Then replace the Emergency flasher later with a junkyard Ford part
I have several good ones in my toolbox
About a buck a piece at the junkyard

Haven't bought a (new) flasher in 25 years or charged a customer for one
