Turn signals not working

First, the problem started show as an intermittent issue of the turn signals not working correctly. They would only flash a few times and then go off then it would go back to working just fine for a while now it’s got to where they just don’t work at all I have changed, the turn signal switch and the turn signal relays. Also, the hazards do work also check the fuse to the turn signals. It’s good I didn’t know if anybody had similar problems and had had an idea of aware to start. , the turn signal switch and the turn signal relays. Try a electric flasher relay. Maybe the one in it only works properly when it has a load of all the signals on it and thst why it work properly with the hazards on.

Maybe the female pins/contacts for the relay are dirty/corroded? I would suggest some CRC cleaner and DeOxIt.

I had a similar situation a few months ago where I cleaned the fuse holder pins and replaced the fuse. I also replaced the turn signal multifunction switch and all was well for a couple weeks.

Then I cleaned the bulb sockets and base at each light housing and eventually left the hazards on for a good 48 hours with a battery tender.

In my opinion and for my situation, the relay is 24 years old and could use replacing. If I go that route, i will also clean the seat/contacts for the relay. For now though and the past couple of months, the signals have been working as intended.

Just throwing some ideas out there in Hope's you find the gremlin soon.

I just wanted to add this that I just swapped the hazard relay for an old one that I believe is bad and when I hit the turn signals, the lights light up and stay on for the signals, so I’m thinking it’s getting power to the relays….
also, a few years ago, I replaced the hazard relay. I don’t know if that matters.

Got it fixed I ended up soaking where the relays go under the dash in contact cleaner, and now it works

This is what I was attempting to suggest you do in post #4. Although, sometimes my words don't convey my message.

Good to hear you fixed it.

well, I jumped the gun. I just took it for a test drive and it’s back to doing the intermittent signal. Sometimes they work and will flash for as long as I’m at a light sometimes it will flash one time sometimes it’ll flash, five sometimes it won’t.

So I have played with my turn signals some more. I put an old relay in and now when I click the turn signals on, they light up, but don’t blink and the hazards do not work. Earlier they wouldn’t light up and I had to tilt my column up and then they would light up. I am just lost at this point I have changed multi function switch too…. Any ideas where to go from here?
