@Poncho450 maybe you saw this thread in the 7.3 section. If you look post #12, 45, 75 which all have tires that I have put on the truck. All are quiet and traction was/ is good onand off road. They won't break the bank and got 50k miles on them.

And here is the cooper I suggested. Looks aggressive but not like you are over compensating.

Then there are a couple of Maxxis that look too aggressive as far as road noise, followed by Hankook Dynapro AT2 at $331 and then Falken Wildpeak AT4W at $378. The Hankook tread pattern looks like it could strike a good balance but I know nothing about their durability or reputation. Trying to walk the tightrope between decent snow traction and highway noise.
Ford is also always advertising tire specials so I inquired with the local dealer yesterday since my truck is sitting there anyway. No response yet.
I don't think I mentioned about my Generals performance is in the snow...it is VERY good even in two wheel drive, in northern Wisconsin we get deep snow and the back roads don't get plowed by the county trucks, good tires or a snowmobile are a must......truck does very well.

Sounds pretty similar to my area.

The Cooper tread in post #75 looks like a good compromise tread for me. How is the noise at highway speeds?

They are very quiet and like how they're wearing very nicely. I would show a picture of them now with 20k+ miles on them but I'm away from that truck right now for another day. The price was great for a 60k mile warranty tire.

Unfortunately the ATP 2 seems to be discontinued. At least any of my online searches so far haven't turned up any. The AT3 XLT and Stronghold keep popping up.
Edit: turned up some Cooper Discoverer Stronghold A/T on eBay. A search of the same manufacturer part number B-170289048 shows these tires as around $395 most places. The eBay tires are blems but brand new for $162. I ordered 4 so I'm in for $699.80 with tax. I figure it'll be another $20-40 each to get them mounted & balanced when they arrive. I should be able to get $300 or so for the current Goodyear Duratracs with about 10k miles on them.

I think it's a tire through discount tire/ Big O chain.

My size appears to be unavailable in the ATP II. I've already rolled the dice on the Cooper Stronghold eBay specials so we'll see how that works out.

I have about 14K miles on my XLT’s. (tread pic taken last week) Very happy with the tire. Quiet and good handling @ 50lbs unloaded. Rotate them every 5K miles. Used mostly on pavement, but no complaints in the wet / mud / snow. Would buy again today.

Good to know, especially since I gave this eBay deal a shot. Here's a link in case anyone is interested or curious.

Well, so much for that eBay bargain. I had an idea it was too good to be true. I get a message from the seller today that "unfortunately there's an issue and we are unable to ship the tires you purchased".
I think that translates to someone screwed up and posted them for too low of a price. The refund process is underway and tire shopping will begin anew.

Has anyone tried the B F Goodrich AT KO3s? This tire has less void area between the blocks, looks like it might be a good tire to consider for what we use these trucks for. I have had great service out of Toyo AT 3s and could go with a set of those tires no problem.

Visited the local Goodyear store today. Internet tire shopping for a week made my head hurt. Plus I would have to cart the tires around for mounting and balancing.
Looks like a set of Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 will be here for install this coming Tuesday.

When the Yokohama GO 15s are mounted up on truck, post a couple pictures, interested in seeing how they look. TIA
