CAC Boot Sanity Check

Hey Guys,
Yesterday I was changing out my intercooler CAC boots at the intercooler and at the spider with new very slick looking blue Riff Raff boots.
On the drivers side spider connection, the lifting eye on the block was interfering with the more robust boot. I ended up taking off the eye just to get the boot on.
It appeared that if i left it as is it would rub a hole in the boot over time.

Has anyone else had this experience? (I put the bolts back into the block for safe keeping)

Thanks in advance

HP

Here is the squeaky clean engine bay of the impeccably maintained masterpiece modified by @Blueforester , with RiffRaff boots:

As you can see, the driver's side engine lift eye is still in place, and if there were even a scintilla of rubbing concern, BlueForester wouldn't run it.

On my truck, the Banks boots might be even thicker than RR boots, and I never had the need to remove the engine lift eye either.

No rubbing.

Just a haunch. Curious if the engine has ever been removed/replaced? The lifting eyes will tend to bend slightly with the weight of the engine. And depending on if using a chain or short engine leveler to remove or install. It may be that yours are just bent?

Isn't that the side where the tube is capable of going in backward or reverse from what it should be?

Good guess, driver side easy to swap end to end. Passenger side no way.

Just did new boots 2 days ago.

You can tweak the position of the pipes too. The driver side...like you're talking about...had to be rotated a little bit to get them to align better when I replaced mine first part of this year.

Hate that pipe. Passenger (cold) side fits fine though.
