Hey Y’all so I’m trying to install a new sound system in my truck with new speakers, subs, equalizer, Bluetooth receiver, and an Amp. Problem is I have to run power to the amp and I plan to stick it under my seat so it’s hidden. I don’t see any holes in the firewall I can feed the wire into so it goes into the cab. I’ll drill a hole if need be but then comes the issue of I don’t want to drill a hole and hit something vital. Does anyone got any tips or have done something like this before?
I ran an 8GA power line into the interior of the truck from the passenger side, behind the kick panel and then under the carpet. It's hard to see in this photo, but there is a plastic mount you can drill for access to the cab. Just be sure to use a rubber grommet where ever you decide to pull the wire through.
Edit: just realized this is for an '87. Got no idea what that looks like. YMMV.
Why not run your power from up by the battery, down along the frame rail and drill your hole up through the floor? Your probably going to have the seat out anyway to mount the amp.

I think the idea is to be less invasive to the cab for water /sound / rust, but i could be wrong. If one was to run a large gauge wire to the driver side and use a junction block, you could just as easily do that at minor added expense, and youre not snaking the wire along the frame or going through a drilled hole in the floor.
