If you roll down the panel dim control all the way it will turn off the interior lights. It will also dim all of the panel lights, but you can remember to turn it down when you get out of the truck.

Out of curiousity, why wouldn't you want your lights to come on when you open the door?

1) The little one is finally asleep in the back seat, and opening the door and turning on the light is GUARANTEED to wake him up.
2) You want to give the interior a really good vacuuming, maybe even shampoo the carpets. The doors are going to be open for several hours- why drain the battery or overheat the interior lights?
3) It's 3 in the morning, and you managed to sneak the truck into the driveway with the headlights off (the new F-150 is SOOO quiet that your wife never HEARD you pull in). She'll know you're home for sure when you open the door and she sees all the interior lights come on.........
There is a switch that gets compressed when the door is closed. YOu can cut one of the wires to this switch and spice in a new switch (keep the origional). This way you can have it act the stock way or have it act like the doors are always closed. YOu can pick a switch up at Radio Shack.
No effect on dash lights? Product idea? A switch panel ... switches for the seat belt buzzer, dome lights, perimeter lights (for the dark getaways), fog lights, etc... This all being nicely integrated on the head rail system of course! I want one!
