Very interesting that this is now a known issue.
Curious about why they replace the whole section shaft under warranty when we have been remedying the issue with just lubricating the parts???

Time. For Ford it is cheaper to replace the part than tear it down, grease, and reassemble it. I believe there is also a seal on the outer shaft that is not replaceable, so if no part is available for the seal, replace the entire unit.
Part number is apparently: PC3Z-3B676-C
Decently cheap at ~$65.00. I might even buy one now and keep it for future installation, should the jolting ever return. Seems cheap enough, and less hassle (to me) than to drive to have it done under warranty.
The U-Joint itself isn't greased; that's not the culprit.
Lets try this second picture...I hope I can explain it properly:
Parts 1 and 3 remain attached to the vehicle, part 2 is what is slid off part 1 'downwards' and is then removed by pulling it out of part 3 upwards.
The grease goes onto the now-exposed shaft of part 3.
