After Market Bed Step
After Market Bed Step
Hello, I'm looking for a side bed step to install on my '22. The AMP steps look nice but have mixed reviews around durability (for the price you would expect a life time of use).
Anyone add a step and have any insight? I want something that folds up out of the way and pretty much out of sight. If possible.

Pretty much the only fold-up step you are going to find is the AMP step.
This is the only other option I've seen: https://rockslideengineering.com/product/r-step/
$700 and I believe is only available for the long bed.
For non-retractable, there's the Dee Zee step: https://upfitsupply.com/product/dee-zee-dz6205f6/
There's always the extended running boards, which for '22 and older is probably the best option.

I had an AMP step that I used on 4 different trucks over a period of 6 years. In the salt roads country of northern NY state. I wouldn't be concerned about durability.
I also once had a Bestop TrekStep. Basically the same as AMP but at the time was lower cost. But they were slow to update to the new 2017 model Ford so I went with AMP. I have no idea if they've kept up with the 23+ trucks or not. I no longer have the need with the bumper, bed side and tailgate steps on the current truck.

I think the main thing I saw with the AMP in-front-of wheel step as far as durability concern is that it only mounts to a single bolt. the Big Truck Big RV guy added a bracket to his that made it mount more solidly. Sucks to have to engineer your own secondary mount for something that cost you $300+ in the first place.
