Does anyone have a 23/24 with retractable side bed steps? How do they perform? Is it a worthwhile option?
I don't, but they appear to perform and fuction the same as the AMP bumper step that's been available for years. Those I have used.
I think retractable bed side step looks weird, but if you are vertically challenged it might be helpful in getting you up to the built in bed side step.
I have them and every time I think I'm going to remove them, I use them :-) I'm tall, but having the ability to get to the center window, stuff in the bed, etc. makes them worth it. I'm not a fan of the look, but they do work well.
If you drive in snow and ice, I would avoid retractable side steps like the plague. This winter has been extremely mild. But it’s the norm to have ice buildup in that area most of the winter. How could one expect them to work when they frozen solid. Not to mention all the road salt they get hit with.
oops I thought you said side steps too. But the same applies to anything that gets hit with spray from the tires.

Doesn't the built in bed side step give you access to all those areas you mentioned? The retractable step is just a step to get to that step haha.
How much power do you need? And how long will you be running it when you need it?
I have an inverter from Harbor Freight wired into my truck. I did a 2,000 watt unit, but they've got larger ones. I can run power tools, a coffee pot, or charge electronic devices. I can run a fan, or a small space heater. It's great. I have it wired to the battery under the hood using large gauge wiring that I sourced from a set of 20' jumper cables. I also installed a 250 amp circuit breaker in line for safety.
I also have a 3,500 watt inverter generator from Harbor Freight that we take camping sometimes so that I can run it all night long to keep fans or heat going inside our enclosed trailer camper project I build.
