Bingo, that was my deciding factor over all else. I was going to pull the trigger on the S&S until I read the instructions. That last bit put a dead stop on it.
True, but that doesn't address my other issues with the kit. I don't find it aesthetically pleasing for one, and two, I don't want to do any modifications to the engine, I want fully plug and play. S&S doesn't provide that on the 20+ engines.
Unless you mod the SPE to run the SNAPP filter, that's I meant. Since you ran the 1st Gen SPE with the Donaldson IIRC.
The second filter mount from S&S is plug and play, I don't know what the original S&S filter setup was. It is still plug and play with the S&S filter.
It's set up the same exact way as the 2.1 upgrade kit. I bought it and I'll take pics to show you. The SNAPP filter has the same size male SAE quick connect fittings that the 2.1 filter head has.
I could literally remove the SNAPP set up, mount the Donaldson filter head to the original mount, I'd have to double check that to see if they take the same truck mount but I'm thinking they do, and connect to the female quick connects on the hoses that are there.
You have two options: order a first use kit with bracket -- black filter with drain and black bracket or white marine version with no drain and stainless steel mount bracket... I went with the 2 micron for this.
