AC Compressor? -No Cold Air!
I ended up fixing the "stuck on defrost" issue, which was just the vacuum pump, but it was only blowing hot air. I figured it would, since it hasn't been turned on in 3 years... so i ended up putting 2 cans of AC recharge in last night and still no cold air. The hose coming out of the accumulator would get cold for a while, but I think it would just start warming back up. Also, the refrigerant pressure was good, not over pressured...
Now today for lunch we went to grab food, still no cold AC, and when we got back, I checked the pressure and it was through the roof on the gauge. The hose coming out of the compressor is super hot. The compressor clutch would kick on and off. (Not sure if it was doing this before adding the refrigerant but it is now) I know that if the compressor is over pressured it wont blow cold.. but does it sound like that's the issue? Do i need to relieve some pressure or should I replace the compressor? Both?
