95 7.3 e4od no gears

I had a problem with my 7.3s e4od slipping first gear and found a good deal on a “low mile” 97 7.3 and e4od. In the meantime I had the HPOP go out so I decided to swap them out while I had the pump rebuilt. I swapped out the trans and used the original converter with the “new” trans, fired it up and no forward or reverse gear and not even an inclination of wanting to move either way. Is there anything that could be different between a 1995 and 1997 unit? Or bad shift module? Torque converter not seated all the way? Any troubleshooting help is greatly appreciated!

Any proof the other was low mile?

Either way, a 25+ year old used trans is a fools errand as well as the used converter to me. You have two core units as far as I am concerned, sorry.

If mechanically inclined you could probably rebuild one of the E4ODs in the living room like assassin X did with his ZF5.

@Mark Kovalsky is the ford auto trans expert, he might be able to chime in with places to start looking for issues....

Torque converter may not be seated properly. More likely, if it came from a junkyard it doesn't have a filter in it. Does it? WIthout a filter you won't get anything to happen.
