Why change fluids when not needed other than something to do? You believe parts will last longer or fluids are breaking down? What parts are failing when following recommendations?
If a person is beating the snot out of a vehicle and mud bogging to the doors I'm all in on frequent changes but for the majority asphalt queens. No need....but that's just me and I rack roughly 45-50k miles a year with off road conditions.
Because it’s our truck and our money and we can do whatever we want. The person asked how often and I provided what I did.
I did my first coolant change with the "Yellow" coolant at 137k miles on 2/2018 (switched from orange to yellow in primary and orange in secondary) and been running that same "Yellow" coolant since. Currently have ~155k miles on that coolant and still have both original water pumps with 292k miles. I will change the coolant when it hit's 200k miles and will go back to the same Motorcraft Yellow coolant.
The main thing to do when changing the "Yellow" coolant is to flush the coolant with distilled water only and to top off with only distilled water.
Nothing wrong with that! Someone has to stimulate the economy.
Everyone does things differently for whatever reason: personal preferences based on their own experiences and what they feel comfortable with. Nothing wrong with that.
Some use high-octane fuel, or non-ethanol fuel. Some think that's a waste of money.
Some change their oil/coolant more frequently than others.
Some put in the cheapest oil they can find at Walmart: SuperTech brand to save a few bucks. After all, it's made by ExxonMobile/Warren/Pennzoil.
Yet some only use more expensive, name-brand engine oil: someone has to stimulate the economy, eh?
