Trailer TPMS
Trailer TPMS
New 2024 F350 was purchased with 5th Wheel Prep Package and Trailer TPMS with the expectation that I could add install the sensors on the trailer tires, program the truck dash display to monitor trailer tire pressure similar to the Freighliner Valor TPMS kit for toads to avoid using an external TPMS. Do I need the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (874) and Sync 3/4 to install the Trailer TPMS as it says in the specs?

I don't understand the question. Do you want to replace the TPMS sensors that are already on the trailer? Or do you want to know if the truck will read the existing sensors using the Ford kit?
One thing I know that you will need is the "Trailer Base Harness" from Ford to connect the TPMS kit that came with your truck. The kit you bought does not include the harness to connect it all. Camera is optional but also connects to that base harness.
One more thing to note, the 2024 TPMS kit uses 433mhz sensors. I do not know if the module would read the older 350mhz sensors that most likely are on your existing system. It's possible it could read either frequency, I just don't know.

I do not want to replace trailer TPMS sensors. Just want to install the Ford trailer TPMS sensors to read on the truck dash to avoid installing an independent TPMS to display truck and trailer tire pressure on a monitor. Thanks for the clarification on the harness requirement. I assume the harness connects from the Trailer TPM Module to the truck bed fifth wheel prep outlet. However do I need one with or without YAW Sensor Connection?

Guess I'm dense, because I'm still not clear.
Are you hoping to have dual sensors in each wheel? The originals, AND the Ford kit sensors?
If you want dual sensors, I can see a couple of ways to do that. One is to add a second valve stem to each wheel. I know some people do that but I don't know where you would go to have that done. The other method would be to use band style sensors AND stem style sensors. Band style sensors are kind of old school, and I don't know if you can get them in 433mhz. You probably can. I guess a 3rd option would be to use the sensors that screw on the outside end of the valve stems.

Regarding the yaw sensor, harnesses are available with and without the connection for yaw. If you have the Pro Trailer Assist **** on the dash for backing up a trailer, the yaw sensor is what guides that system. Don't know if you have that. You don't have to connect it, but if you do you need the harness that supports it as well as TPMS/Camera. The harness comes with cable end caps so you can just skip a component such as camera if you don't want it.
Also, your truck has Sync 4, so you're good there. And you bought the 5th wheel prep, so the 12 pin connector to support Yaw, TPMS, Camera is already in the side of your truck bed. Can be moved to the bumper if you prefer.
Appreciate your help. Trailer has internal TPMS sensors that diplay tire pressure inside the trailer, which is helpful prior to or after towing but not while towing. I hoping to install the Ford trailer TPMS sensors (external I think) on the trailer tires to dipay both truck and trailer tire pressure (10 total) in the dash while towing.

The Ford TPMS sensors are definitely a new valve stem with sensor attached, and they are 433mhz. So you'll have to figure out what is available, and what your trailer has now. If you're lucky they might be band style. And I think they might be, because if your system reads inside the cabin, that means they are not the style that has to be activated by wheel rotation. Which most all automotive TPMS sensors need.
