Hello all, I have recently purchased a 2021 f250 with the 7.3 Godzilla and the 4.30 gears it has 62000 miles on and it on my drive home from a 4 hour trip I noticed it had a “clunk” noise when rolling to a stop but it only happened once the whole trip? Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks
One clunk in 62,000 miles? I’d say your fine. My truck(‘23 7.3 3.73s) clunked and jerked pulling out of the dealership after taking delivery. Hard and loud enough that the wife and I looked at eachother with big eyes and she says “so what’s the warranty again?”. Been 20k miles since of towing and plowing without issue.

well I bought it at 62k I’ve read about the 10 speed transmission failing and just want to be sure lol
Mine will get a little clunky from time to time when down shifting into the the lower gears. figure it's something that future MYs will have straightened out!
I noticed mine does not always downshift smoothly coming to a stop. It seems to be a matter of engaging gear a bit firmly. It seems to do about half the braking when coming to a stop.
Most of my driving is commuting, empty.
Recently I towed about 5k lbs. to WV and back, and now it seems to be up- and downshifting smoothly.
The power train does adapt, so you may need to work it a bit to get it to smooth out. I have heard of someone turning off adaptation once they were happy with the performance.
I'd say to pay attention to what it is doing, when, and what you are doing at the time, but most likely there is nothing wrong with it.
