Im used to changing trans fluid on my Chevy 2500HD. I'm used to disconnecting the transfluid cooler line up by the radiator and turning on the engine and pumping out all the Old fluid until the new stuff comes through... so i get a pretty good "flush" of the old stuff out.
with that said, Is that the similar process on my 21 f250??? Ie: disconnect the lower line and run the engine until the new fluid pumps out of the line????
OR is there an easier or different way to flush all the old stuff out of the lines??
You've got to change the filter or you're doing yourself no good. Drop the pan and change the filter, then refill with fresh fluid. Probably should do this every 50k miles or so if you plan to keep the truck forever.
I just did my 2022 6.7. Definitely drop the pan and change the filter as previously stated. I replaced my pan with one from PPE not for the additional capacity but so that I would have a drain plug.

I did the same with the PPE pan on my 2019.
Drop pan and filter change on a regular basis will keep you good. No need for a flush unless it goes undone a while. “Regular basis” is gonna be up to you.
