In the directions that I have for flushing the trans fluid, I'm instructed to
drain the pan, add x quarts of fluid, and then attach a length of clear rubber hose to the line which returns the fluid from the cooler. From there, I'm supposed to start the truck and then shift thuy the gears to flush additional fluid out.
If anyone is familiar with this process, can someone give me a reference to where this return line can be found? Is it a steel line going into the trans, or is it a hose?
Mike, Look above in the Articles/ Specifications section, scroll down in the articles until you come to the section ""Changing transmissiion fluid in the E40D and 4R100 article. All info there. Carroll
Is there some reason you don't want to do it easier by draining the pan, changing the filter and draining the TC?
Someone said, not me..... That the TC has no drainplug. I'm not sure if this is just the later trucks or all of them. I just don't see why the TC would NOT have a drainplug?

Does someone know for sure?
My 01 does have a drain plug. Stock that is. Not sure what TC you have.
According to the instructions referenced above (Articles/Specs), my 2002 truck has no drain plug on the TC, which leads me back to the clear tubing question, which is option 2 if you don't have the drain plug.
Exactly where is the return line from the cooler, and where does it connect to the trans?
