Hello everyone
I have a 2008 Ford Super Duty F-250 XLT 2dr Regular Cab 4WD LB.
5.4L
I got in this truck from my uncle that passed away. Ron's great but I'm having some electrical issues.
1. The dome lights you have to keep the switch turned off they will not turn off automatically that's one.
2. It used to hold a charge for 2 days now it is down to overnight the battery is dead I have noticed the batteries was replaced 1/16 which I think the batteries shot.
3. The passenger side brake light work when they brought the truck here. Now that side don't work the bulbs are good but now it's the driver side that works it used to be opposite. I am really not sure where to start at to narrow down some of this electrical issue they said they also had the ABS light worked on but the ABS is back on. Thank you
I don't really have a great answer, but step 1 is to get a new battery in there and clean your terminals before attaching. I'd probably put my ammeter in series of the positive lead and see if you pull anything over 1 amp when the truck is OFF (checking for a parasitic draw). The earlier years had issues with water dripping on the central junction box (fuse box) and GEM that is located near the drivers foot area. I'm not sure if they fixed that issue by 2008 or not, but worth checking. The water often comes in through the windshield seal. Might be worth doing some google searches and see if it guides you anywhere. Or, there are a few members on here who hopefully will chime in with more prescriptive advice.
