2001 abs light
I have a 2001 f150 4x4 5.4L super cab. This past January I had to hit the brakes pretty hard on a snowy road. Once the truck stopped, it died. I always drive with headlights on. I restarted the truck, went to shift from P to D, push on the brake and the truck dies. I tried again with the lights off, and it stays running. It runs fine with out the lights on, but the ABS light is on. I parked it for the winter.
Now I have to revisit the problem.
When the truck was stored the battery was pulled. I checked it this past weekend(3/21/15) battery tested at 12.4v. I replaced the fuel pump fuse and she fired right up. I went through the same scenario and the truck still dies when the headlights are on and the brake pedal is depressed. I disconnected the ABS plug from the module and tested again. Still dies. I am trying to figure out where would be a good place to start looking.
I can proudly say I've been working on this truck since I bought it in 2007. Its never been to a shop except for a recall and an alignment. So I am very confident in my abilities. But this one confuses me. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
