I believe that Howards, Erson, Lunati maybe some more are actually the Morel 5323's rebranded. I've also heard that the 5323's are made in Mexico but that does not mean they are inferior since there is one company down there that makes good quality rollers. Thats the problem with the world today, it's like Forrest Gumps mama said it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get.
That's right. Howard, Erson and others sell the Morel lifters. I know someone who went to their factory and they had tie bars with many different names on them and they put them together just before shipping to reduce problems with theft. I've had good results with their lifters. I've had a couple of bad ones and that's one drawback to their design, you can't take them apart and change just one or remove and clean the insides of the hydraulics.
You've convinced me. I think I will go with the Morel 5323's this is a mildish cam 222/226 @ .050 with .554 lift. Chris Straub's place is only 15 minutes from here I think I will drive over and see what he wants for a set.
No luck at Straub's they were all out, but I went down to the machine shop and he ordered a set from Liberty and saved me $50.
Off topic but did you see John Forces wreck yesterday. I hope he's Ok, I know he was in ICU for observation. It's hard to believe he's my age and still able and willing to drive a Funny Car. That was a bad hit he took.
It was bad enough that it blew up in his face but hitting both walls at that speed had to have left a mark. I've watched him race since back in the days when you got satellite tv on a big dish and it was free.
