Can you get a picture of this pipe with a flange?
Is there anything on this pipe like a hose and if so where dose it go?
Only thing with a pipe I can think of is a heater hose nipple.
I know 1 is on the Tstat housing think the other is in the water pump?
They have been known to rust and leak.
Water pumps do have a weep hole at the bottom and if the seal goes bad will start to leak but you can see the hole most of the time.
Motor off if you grab the fan blade and try and move it up and down dose it move?
If so bad water pump. I have see the fan move a lot and not leak and also seen them not move and leak so???

From the Book of Troubleshooting, Chapter 3, Verse 7:
Get thee a cooling system pressure tester. Thou shalt connect the tester to the radiator neck. Thou shalt pump up the tester to 13 PSI. Thou shalt not pump up the pressure to 12 PSI, except when proceeding straight through to 13 PSI. 14 is right out.
Verily I say, thou shalt keep all fingers attached, working safely with the engine off. Thou shalt rejoice when thou dost find the exact source of the leak.
Man, I dunno @Max Capacity , I would use that sealer on one side of the valve cover gaskets but regular RTV should be just fine for water pump gaskets.

I have no leaks, so I'm happy. Only thing I wish I had done was to paint the new pump before installing it.
I use that same sealer to hold gaskets like the water pump, oil pan and side cover to each item. I also put a little grease on the other side of the gasket.
This way if I have to remove them later the gasket sticks to the part removed and is easy to clean the old gasket off the part on the bench and little clean up on the motor side.
I also used that same sealer on the freeze out (casting plugs) plugs.
