Alright.. so let the frustration of this issue commence. I have a 2000 Ranger 2.5 5speed, 2wd with an ABS light on. I bought the truck 2 years ago with an ABS light on, relaced the ABS sensor on the rear differential and speedometer worked great for 2 years.
About 2 weeks ago, the ABS light cam back on. The speedometer won’t get above 45-55 mph. When you press on the brake pedal, the speedometer will drop 5-10 mph and back to where it was. When you press on the accelerator it will drop 5-10 mph and back to where it was.
Because it had a speedometer issue in the past, I thought it was the ABS sensor on the rear differential again. I dropped the rear cover and the tone ring looks completely fine. I replaced the abs sensor and refilled with gear oil and no speedometer. Replaced the ABS sensor with another new one and now it is back to doing the same as it previously had been doing.
Any thoughts? I am losing my mind on this adventure. Thanks.
