E4OD Transmission Swap

Hello, I have a buddy with a 1994 bronco 5.8l that has an e4od transmission…. The transmission has seen better days. We have access to an e4od from a 1995 f-250, will this be a direct swap or is there anything we need to lookout for? Thank you in advance!

You need the F-250 to also have a 5.8L engine. Also, if the Bronco is a 4x4, then the F-250 has to be a 4x4. If the Bronco is a 4x2, then the F-250 has to be an F-250. If these don't match it won't bolt in.

Thank you! Yes they are both 4x4 and 5.8l. I think our biggest concern if there is any differences with the splines and the transfer case

Nope, none at all. They are the same.

Isn't there a problem with the diodes when swapping a later model trans into an earlier truck?
I have heard that 89-94 had the diodes in the trans and 95-96 had them in the ECM and the fix was either use the earlier solenoid pack or the newer ECM?

Use the 1994 solenoid pack in the donor 1995 E4OD. The 1995 should also have the new style MLPS on the driver side of the transmission. Keep that, install the later style MLPS connector on the wiring harness side. Quick 5 minute swap.
