Starter continuously engaging
Replaced starter and starter solenoid. Re-did the wiring going from the battery to the starter. Did it properly. Everytime we start it now, you can hear the starter continuing to turn basically like turning the key while the truck is already running. Just messing around with it when we realized when we take the wire that goes from the alternator to the solenoid on the fire wall the starter stops engaging and runs normally . BUT. Soon dies bc alternator is no longer charging battery. What’s my next step?

Probably fixed already but it sounds like you misplaced that wire. One of the studs on the solenoid is just a connection point for the wires. Sounds like you connected the alternator charge wire to the solenoid/starter actuating terminal by accident.
