Check your battery voltage. A low battery will cause it to click. If your battery is fine then I would look at the solenoid on the starter and make sure that it is kicking out when you turn the key.

Check the cable going to the starter too. The solenoid could be doing its job but the juice never gets to the starter motor.

Check your battery voltage. You can't tell the voltage just by looking at the battery.

Ya, make sure your cables are in good shape with no corrosion, and make sure the clamps are tight, and battery has a good charge (even though it may be a "good" battery it could be discharged). The click you here is telling that your soleniod is doing its job (usually).
If all is well with the battery and the connection, then I would hope it's your starter, because the other option is a seized engine.
Some of the "loud" click you hear could be the drive (bendix) kicking forward to enguage the flywheel, but the brushes (or other parts) inside are worn and there is no "turning", in that case the starter needs to be replaced or rebuilt (its cheaper sometimes).

There is a place up here that rebuilds starters and they do a great job and it's like $80 very good job. We had a starter rebuilt for our forklift and it works great.

One "temporary fix" is to bang on it with a hammer. But that is, in my oppinion, only one of those tricks that you pull when you are in the middle of no-where and there is a goblin after you. (it can and will cause damage if you hit it too hard, and it doesn't always work anyway). The last time I had a starter go out, I went to the parts store and bought a repair kit for it that cost about $13 (compared to a rebuilt one at $40 it saved me enough for lunch and a brick of .22 shells), just thought you might want to know about a little "cheaper" fix.

Like I said, check your battery voltage. Also make sure that terminals are clean. Checking those won't cost you a dime.
