Does anyone know how to remove the speed limiter (130 km/h) set on the Ford F550?
I've tried changing some parameters using the latest version of FORScan. Even after successfully writing the parameters, the vehicle is still restricted to 130 km/h.
Here's what I've done so far:
In the PCM, the speed limiter is set to 254, which should mean no speed limit is set. There are also options like ASL and ISL, both currently set to "less ASL" and "less ISL" features.
In the TCM, there's a speed limiter option where 1 indicates no speed limit. I've tried this as well, but with no success.
Can anyone provide any steps or tools to remove the speed limiter on a 2023+ model? What about HP tuner?

I've tested with those settings as well with no success. There's a guy on Tremor forum that claimed he was able to remove his with Forscan, but was a little criptic with the specifics, but I think has went to another brand and isn't active on the forum anymore.

What HP tuner did you get? I have a '22 F550, been waiting for the banks derringer to become available to have a little more oomph and top end on the rare occasion.

Yessir, been happy with it so far, but having the TQ/HP choked, and the speed limiter, it's terrible going up the mtns here... coming from a 2015 ram 3500/C it was a bit of a disappointment after everyone hyped me on the 6.7, little did I know they cut the F450/550 ratings..

Yep, anything over 14K GVW has the differently rated driveline. Thank the EPA and the tree Huggers in government.

I can't help you directly nor what I advise removing it but to each your own, I'll be the last one to be the on the safety board.
Have you tried manipulating the rear end ratio? Granite it would throw your speedometer out of whack, but you may be able to get a few more miles out of it.
550's come with 4.88, 430, and 4.10 gears. Assuming yours is a 19.5 gvw and most likely has 4.88, perhaps you can set it to 4.10
Shot in the dark, then I think your next hurdle will be engine RPMs. Peak power is around 2,600 RPM so I remember correctly, cruising about 80 is I want to say 2,300.
Just thinking out loud, Even if you are able to remove the speed limit, you may not have enough gusto to move a truck of this size with a load anyways.
