So my bronco has an interesting issue in that when the trucks transmission fluid is cool doesn't show up but when the fluid is hot I have issues with second gear.
When warm the truck leaves in second gear and will NOT shift to third till I reach 39-45mph indicated on my speedometer. If I slow down slightly it will stay in third gear but if i slow down too much it resumes 2nd gear and wont shift out till ive reached suffiecinet speed.
I have placed a bottle of transmission fix in and it seems to have helped although I've only driven it 50 miles. It currently has its radiator cooler bypassed and uses a 6 row tube and fin external cooler.
My thinking is if i keep the fluid cool i dont notice the problem.
BTW I have already replaced the solenoid pack inside the transmission. Although I guess it could've gone bad agaI'm.
Right now my solution is to put an electric fan on the aux cooler and if that helps then the next plan of action would be to reroute the windshield squirter to drip on the cooler.
