My truck is 2019 XLT with 3.5 ecoboost.
It comes with the remote start function.
I have experienced random no crank, no start symptom.
It only happens in hot climate (Florida summer), after using remote start once, very short trip (within 10 minutes from using the remote start). I normally don't use the remote start function. I only use it in summer time. I remote start the truck, load the family, turn the key on, drive to gas station (0.5 mile), get gas, get in the truck, use the key to start. No crank, no start. Shut the door, lock, then remote start. It starts, get in the truck and switch the key on, engine automatically shuts off. Dash has a error message: Auto Startstop Manual Restart Required. I take the key out, re-insert and turn, it stats fine this time.
When it doesn't crank, there is no solenoid noise.
Just replaced the battery this year. I have cleaned the starter contacts. The symptom points me to a module. Seems that the truck is confused and unable to switch from remote start to manual start.
Does anyone here have experience the same issue?
Since it is random and I can't duplicate it every time, I haven't take it in to the dealer yet. I am afraid it will waste my time if it is something cannot be duplicated.
I would buy the dongle and download Forscan. It's a free diagnostic software. I would be certain there is a code (not the same type of code the check engine light throws) Good luck, one other question, sorry I me=issed you replaced battery, but are you certain the battery is fully charged? Many will run around as a grocery getter, many short trips, and it does not come close to a hwy drive as far as charging.

Thanks for the tip. I have forscan and I will link it up. Since there is no code, I didn't think about it.
Yes it is fully charged. I work from home, the truck doesn't get driven often. Since I replaced the battery, it is always on a trickle charger.
